Ella loves bananas! One morning I cut her about half of one for breakfast and left the rest on the table and when I turned around, she had grabbed it and was eating it herself. My girl loves to eat!






The Finans came for a sleepover and Jackson and Micah played all night with sunglasses and backpacks as secret agents




Ella has started carrying her purse around...adorable!




Jackson spends hours on the hill in the backyard playing, exploring, throwing rocks, etc. It is such a joy to watch him be a little boy :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! Today marks 10 years that Jason and I have been together! Time has flown and it is hard to believe all that has taken place in the past 10 years. Valentine's Day is a sweet day and although it tends to be a little over done at times, I do love today for what it means to J and I. He is my valentine and I am so grateful for that! I also love my little valentine and when I asked him this morning what Valentine's day is about, he replied with a very matter of fact, "lovin'." So true, my little guy. J was helping Neil move this morning so I took my babies to get donuts and have enjoyed my morning with them. We made valentine cards and he is packed and ready to go to Nanny and Grandpa's for the night. He came down this morning, dressed with a full backpack asking when we were leaving...so sweet. We plan on spending the day all together LOVIN' and making the most it!

We were driving to school the other day and saw a firetruck driving and I asked Jackson if he wanted to be a fireman when he grows up. He replies with a sigh and, "No, mom. I probably just still want to be Spiderman." Cracked me up. What does that mean in his little mind??

Everything a mama could dream of in a baby girl!



We went to her 1 year well visit on Friday and she weighed 24 lbs. and is 31 inches long. She is in the 94% for weight and 95% for height. She is a big girl, but very proportionate and her dr. said she looks perfect! She cried a little bit with her shots, but brother was there to hold her hand and comfort her.

Ella is so much fun and keeps us very entertained! She is into dancing and bounces up and down and turns her hips back and forth when we tell her to dance. So cute! She is walking all over the place and is getting faster and faster everyday. She loves to try to get into the cabinets and climb the stairs. We have to be so careful and constantly make sure the gates are closed. She is my little helper and likes to help push the clothes into the dryer and takes silverware out of the dishwasher. We have started reading to her more and she seems to really like it. She gets excited when she sees the books and loves the ones that have texture. She loves to eat and will eat almost anything, although she seems to be developing a texture issue. She gets sad when her food is all done and cries like her bubba did when he was this age. She is getting a little bit of sass to her, but it is kind of cute. I know I will not think so in a few years, but for now, it is :) She continues to make us smile and brings so much joy to our lives!

Happy Birthday Ella Grace!

Happy Birthday Ella! I cannot believe our baby girl is one today. In some ways it seems like it was yesterday that she was born, but it also seems like she has been with us forever. She has changed our lives and been the biggest blessing we could have asked for. We had a wonderful party for her and we are enjoying today and thanking God for the past year! I have lots of pics and will post more later, but here are a couple of our sweet birthday girl!

Christmas 2008

This post is very late, but better late than never! We had a great holiday and enjoyed every minute of sharing the joy of Christmas with our children. It was wonderful to really get to talk about Christmas and the true meaning of why we celebrate with Jackson. Even in his 3 1/2 year old mind, he gets it. He knows that while Santa, the Christmas tree, parties, etc. is all super fun and exciting, that Jesus is the real reason that we celebrate. That makes my heart smile :) Mom and Dad came Christmas Eve and after church, we went to eat at Pappadeaux and then went to Joe Pool Lake to drive through the Christmas lights. Jackson loved it and rode through the lights standing with his head through the sun roof. After hot chocolate, decorating our gingerbread house, putting reindeer food in the front yard and cookies out for Santa, he headed to be enough, Santa came and brought Jackson a Spiderman bicycle and Ella a Bounce and Spin pony. We had a great morning watching the kids open gifts, eating our traditional French Toast Casserole and just being together as a family. Jackson got a guitar and was hilarious putting on his rock star act! Mom & Dad left around noon to go to Nana's and we headed to Ironhorse for Christmas with the Irons. We had a fabulous meal and more fun with Nanny, Grandpa, Aunt Ashley, Ya Ya and Heston. Our good friend Brad (Uncle Brad) was there with us too. It was a perfect Christmas with our wonderful family. I feel so thankful that we were able to spend it with everyone. The next day we drove to San Antonio to see Nana and spend a few days with her. It is always a blessing to spend time with Nana and we never want to leave!
