A trip to Arkansas

We have been very busy the past 2 weeks! Last Wednesday, we (Jackson, Cindy, Shadie, Heston & I) all went up to Arkansas to visit family and have a little girls trip. We stayed with Aunt B and got to visit with GG, GG2, Grandpa Ruall, and lots of other family. We shopped, talked, laughed and had such a nice time so I am including a few pics from our trip. We love to visit and wish that we could do it more often. Jackson and Heston are so funny together...they are beginning to act like brothers...bickering and fighting over toys. Here is my favorite story from the trip: Heston is coming into his own and does not put up with a whole lot from Jackson. He is very vocal and will scream at Jackson when he gets frustrated with him. One afternoon Heston accidentally broke one of J's toys and as you can imagine, J was not happy. He walked over to Heston, got down on the floor on his tummy (eye level with Heston) and said, "Heston, what you do to my Snoopy?" He was so serious and wanted to understand and for Heston to tell him why he did that. Heston looked at him, screamed and smacked him on the head with a toy as if saying, "I'll show you what I did, and I'll do it again!" So funny....we laughed about it all week! They are so precious to me and I am so thankful that they are so close and get to spend so much time together. I love my boys!

Fun times with good friends

We have been so blessed to spend time with great friends this past week. Last Thursday, one of my best friends from high school, Kim, came to visit us. She had baby Cannon in April and this was the first time that we have met him...sad, but well worth the wait! He is so adorable and the sweetest baby!








We had a great time catching up and Jackson loved him. So much that he climbed up in the pack and play to sit with him. Jackson also wanted to play in the exersaucer like Cannon...something is not right with this picture.



I love you Kimmie and I am so glad we got to spend so much time together!

Saturday was a great day too. Our sweet friend Robin works for the Make a Wish Foundation and she coordinated their annual walk, Race for Wishes, this year. It was a fundraising event held in Sundance Square in Ft. Worth. We got up early and headed down there for the walk. It was so much fun and such an incredible cause. I have had it on my heart for about a year to volunteer with Make a Wish and this was my first step in beginning that process. I am so excited about being able to work with these amazing children. Next, we went on to watch our precious nephew, Heston, all day while Shadie got ready for her sister's wedding. We got him all dressed up in his tux (you have never seen anything cuter!) and headed to Cleburne for the wedding. We got a small taste of what it will be like with 2 kids and trying to gather ourselves together to get somewhere in a timely manner. Let's just start praying for some organizational skills that don't come easy for me! The wedding was beautiful and Kolbie was stunning, I will post a picture when I get one.

I got to spend Sunday at Jazen's house for a Southern Living party. It was so fun spending time with friends, some that I had not seen in a long time, and this week I get to have dinner with some college friends! I love all of my friends so much and I am so thankful that God has blessed me with you all. Jackson has a Veggie Tales CD, and in one part it talks about friends being little presents from God and that could not be more true :)

A Fresh start

Ok, now that we are settled, I am going to really get back into this blog. We finally got our internet up and running after 5 weeks and 6 visits from Time Warner. We are loving the house and enjoying Arlington as well. Jackson and I went to Lubbock for a visit on Sunday and came home last night. Mom had an angiogram to check for blockage but had none. Thank goodness! Jackson loved his visit with Granny and Pop and Tate. Mom and Dad have purchased a new toy so I am including some pics of Pop and Jackson on the Honda Goldwing. Yes...they have purchased a motorcycle, but it is really a trike. Bright yellow...not to be missed. It is great and they are loving it. They have a trip planned this weekend to a pumpkin festival in Floydada. You guys are so cute to me :)



I do have a quick funny story to share about Jackson. This morning we headed to Shadie and Heston's to take him a present because he is getting tubes in his ears tomorrow..my poor little guy :(


Here was the conversation on the way:

J: Mommy, why we go to YaYa's house?
C: Baby, Heston is having surgery on his ears tomorrow. They are going to put tubes in them so that he will feel better.
J: AAAWWWWW.....Mommy!! Buy him some new ears!!

Hilarious. I laughed so hard. It makes so much more sense to him to buy new ones than to mess with putting tubes in. I love how that little mind works!
