Eating pumpkins

I love this! I have a picture of Jackson at the pumpkin patch for the first time trying to eat a pumpkin and now one of Ella doing the same thing! They look so much alike to me! I love my pumpkins :)

We headed out in the cold this morning to the pumpkin patch. I LOVE the pumpkin patch so this is one of my favorite things to do with my babies. It was very cold this morning and we quickly realized this when we got out of the car and my kids did not have hats! Several other kids needed them as well so I ran to Target and walked out with $100 worth of hats and gloves for everyone! Of course by the time I got back, it had warmed up and they were not necessary! I will be making a return to T this afternoon :)

We had a fun day with the kids running around, playing in the mazes, taking a hayride, bouncing in the bounce house, playing in the teepee, and getting just plain dirty! Jackson, Micah and Heston even had a small brawl in the maze and had to be refereed by YaYa. Not funny at the time, but we heard screaming and Shadie had to crawl on top of the maze and pull Heston and Jackson out. Jackson came out COVERED in dirt and grass screaming, "Heston pushed me down and Micah sat on my head!" I did feel a tad bid bad for him, but I did have to laugh. It was a classic boy moment! It was a wonderful fall day with wonderful friends. I did not get any pics of the kids together in the patch, but that is ok, playing was much more important!

9 months

Ella is 9 months old! I am in awe of the time and how quickly it has gone by. I LOVE this age and all that she is doing. She is crawling all over the place and she wants to stand up constantly. She is adorable bc she gets so excited and proud when she stands on her own. Here are a few other things about Ella:

She spits at us when she does not like something you feed her
She weighs 22 lbs. 7 oz.
She loves to clap!
She is beginning to wave
She loves to play with bubba's cars, bracelets and sunglasses
She does not like it when mommy leaves her
Peek-a-boo is her favorite game
She has 5 teeth
Says "Da da","Buh", "Ma"
She pulls up on everything and is starting to let go on her own
She LOVES bananas, just like her bubba did!
Bath time is a favorite
She is still our chubby monkey and has the sweetest legs ever :)
She is a very HAPPY baby girl!

What a blessing the past 9 months have been to see this baby grow. She is more than we could have asked for and we are so excited about the next 9 months and what all she will do. We love our little bean!

Soccer time

Jackson started soccer a few weeks ago and it has been quite an experience! He had a rough start the first couple of games. He was a bit overwhelmed by the whole thing, all of the people, etc. We spent the first game in tears and refusing to play. We felt so bad for him and it was the first time that my heart has truly been sad for him. He seemed so confused, timid, and completely overwhelmed. I do not like to see him so upset and feeling that way. The second games was better, third game was back to refusing to play and this past week he was awesome! He played majority of the game and stopped the ball every time while playing goalie. When he kicked the ball back in, he got excited and took off down the field kicking the ball and leaving his goal. It was hilarious and he had such a great time. Grandpa told him that he "kicked tail" and the next time he came out of the game he let us know that he "kicked tail." We were so proud of him and happy to see him excited about the game!

Trip to Lubbock

I have not posted in so long that I do not even know where to start! It seems like school started and time went into fast forward! We had a great trip to Lubbock to visit family and to go to my uncle's 70th birthday party. It was a surprise and so much fun to see my cousins that I do not get to see often enough. They planned a fabulous party for Uncle Bill and he was so surprised! It was a great time, with lots of food, drinks and dancing. We had a wonderful evening celebrating such a wonderful man! We were also able to spend some time with some old friends and had so much fun, laughing so much our cheeks hurt! We got to meet our friends, Stephanie and Andy's little baby girl, Maggie Claire. What an angel! Ella loved her new friend :) On Sunday we had a big family get together at mom and dad's to celebrate mom's birthday and my birthday, which are the same! I love getting to spend our birthdays together. It is so special to me to be able to share that day with her. Here are some pics from our trip.

This little guy...

has been cracking me up lately. Well, he always does, but he has had some funny things to say to me this week. I wanted to post them because I feel that they capture his little personality. On Sunday I wore a green strapless dress to church. We drove into the parking lot and Jackson suddenly says, "Mommy! You're naked!" I laughed and told him he was silly and that I was not naked, and had on a dress. He persisted with, "You are naked on your back." J and I are both laughing at him and he says, "Mommy, you can't be naked in church!"

On Monday we went to the Gap and were looking for the Batman shirt in a toddler size. He has been wanting this t-shirt and I told him that we would get it. They did not have it in the store, but had Superman. He decided that he wanted the Superman shirt instead. J has a Superman t-shirt - that was his childhood hero :) so Jackson wanted to be like daddy. I explained to him that I would get that one, but that meant that he would not be getting the Batman one, so he really needed to decide which he really wanted. Being the negotiator that he is, he started trying to make a deal with me. I repeated myself that he had to choose one. (the Gap sales people are laughing at this debate) He thinks for a minute and says, "I will get the Superman one here, and I will get the Batman one on-line." On-line?? What 3 year old talks about things being on-line? We cracked up and then he told me that Superman was also ok, because I would be buying him the Batman costume for Halloween.

Many times over the past few weeks he stops to tell me, "Mommy, I sure do love you. You are the best mommy." It does not get any better than that to hear your baby say those words to you.

I am so in love with this little boy. God has blessed me so much with him and I could not be more thankful. We have had some rough weeks lately, but this past one has been full of funny, sweet moments. The 3's are a big challenge, but also so wonderful because the level of understanding that he has is growing so much and the conversations that we have are so special. I want to put a book on his head and keep him little forever!
